1. Advanced Placement Course for Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics

The College Board organizes the Advanced Placement (AP) courses for Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

Werkeley Careers provides the core Advanced Placement STEM pathway, with learning unique analytical skills and structured problem-solving methodologies.

Werkeley Careers teaches the AP Chemistry course structure through nine foundational units that cover major chemical concepts, coupled with a mandatory laboratory framework.

2. AP Chemistry Exam Format

The final AP Chemistry exam lasts 3 hours and 15 minutes and is divided into two sections:

Section I – Multiple Choice (50% of score)

60 questions | 90 minutes
Includes both discrete individual questions and questions based on a passage or data.

Section II – Free Response (50% of score)

7 questions | 105 minutes
Includes 3 long-answer questions and 4 short-answer questions assessing experimental design, data analysis, and calculations.
